- What time and where is hotel pickup?
- Pickup starts around 03:00 from hotels in the Kintamani area, included in the price. Staying elsewhere in Bali (Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur)? Tell us your hotel on WhatsApp and we'll arrange pickup and confirm the exact time.
- What time is sunrise at Mount Batur?
- Sunrise is usually between about 6:00 and 6:30 AM year-round. We time the trek so you reach the 1,717 m summit before first light, with time to settle in before the sun appears over Mount Abang and Mount Agung.
- How long and how hard is the Mount Batur hike?
- The climb is about 1.5–2 hours up on a well-trodden trail. It's steep in places on loose volcanic gravel, but beginner-friendly at a steady, guided pace, there's no technical climbing.
- Is it suitable for beginners and children?
- Yes. It's guided slowly by an experienced local guide and most reasonably fit first-timers manage well. Children who can handle a steady walk in the dark are welcome, message us about your group and we'll advise.
- What should I bring and wear?
- Comfortable closed shoes with grip and a light jacket, the summit is cool (around 10°C) before dawn. We provide a headlamp, water and breakfast. Bring your phone or camera for the sunrise.
- What happens if it's cloudy or raining?
- Early mornings are often clear even in the wet season, which is why we start pre-dawn. We watch the forecast and will be honest on WhatsApp if conditions look poor, so you can pick the best morning of your trip.
- Is Mount Batur safe, and is the volcano active?
- Mount Batur is an active but closely monitored volcano, and tours run on officially open routes with licensed local guides. Your guide knows the terrain in the dark and prioritises your safety throughout.
- What's included, and are there extra costs?
- The price covers your local guide, entrance ticket, headlamp, water, breakfast at the summit, photo documentation and Kintamani-area hotel pickup. There are no hidden booking fees, just message us first.
- Can you pick me up from Ubud, Canggu or the south?
- Yes, we run pickups from the main tourist areas. See your area page (Ubud, Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Sanur, Denpasar) for typical pickup times, or just tell us your hotel on WhatsApp.
- How do I book, and is a deposit required?
- There's no online deposit to check a date, just message us on WhatsApp. We'll confirm availability and settle the simple payment details with you directly.
