01 What's the real difference between the trekking and the jeep tour?
The trek reaches the actual summit on foot and takes about 6 hours door to door. The jeep never climbs, it drives to a sunrise viewpoint and then explores the black lava and black sand fields, about 6.5 hours door to door. Same sunrise, same price per person, a different kind of morning.
02 Can I book a private jeep for my family or partner?
Yes. A private jeep is IDR 750,000 for up to 3 people, which works out cheaper than the per-person rate as soon as there are two of you, and you keep the vehicle to yourselves. Tell us your group size on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the best option.
03 Which spots does the jeep route cover?
The route options are the sunrise point, the black lava field, the black sand area and the floating temple on Lake Batur. You choose up to two of them, and adding all the locations costs IDR 200,000 extra. Tell us which spots matter most to you and we'll plan the morning around them.
04 Are children and older travellers welcome?
On the jeep tour, yes without reservation, there is no climbing at all so it suits children, grandparents and anyone who'd rather ride. On the trek, children who can manage a steady walk in the dark are welcome. Describe your group on WhatsApp and we'll give you an honest recommendation.
05 What happens if it rains or the summit is clouded over?
We track the forecast the evening before and message you honestly rather than let you get up at 2 AM for nothing. If the morning looks poor we'll suggest moving to a better day in your trip. Mountain weather changes fast, so we never promise a perfect sky, we just don't waste your time.
06 Can you pick us up outside the Kintamani area?
Yes, we run pickups from the main tourist areas across Bali, including Ubud, Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Sanur, Denpasar, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran. Free pickup is included within Kintamani, so for anywhere else just send your hotel on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the transfer and the exact pickup time before you book.
